Workshop Rates
| Workshop rates are: |
Diagnostic fee | Except where a specific service is requested, each job that comes through our workshop must first
undergo a diagnostic. This is so both we and you the customer
know exactly what work is required and allows us to efficiently
quote on the full repair. The fee covers up to 45 minutes, give or
take, to be spent on the diagnosis of your repair and allows our
technicians enough time to make an accurate appraisal of the
condition of your system.
After the diagnostic has been completed you will be in contacted to discuss your options and explain the extent of the repair. No more work is carried out on your job until we have been in contact and have had an approval from you to go ahead with the quote. |

| Virus/Spyware/Malware cleanup | We have a host of tools and applications that we can
use to scan your operating system for viruses or spyware. This
package includes up to one hour of specialist attention to try and
repair your computer and is especially useful for those that
would prefer their computer's operating system to remain intact.
Alas, at times even the best software and technicians may deem some spyware or virus damage to be uneconomical to repair while keeping the operating system intact. For these types of 'deep level' infections we recommend an operating system rebuild (see our OS installation packages). If you prefer, we can continue to attempt to repair your computer beyond the one hour included in this package. Any such additional time will be charged at our normal hourly rate (see below). |

| Component installation | If you have purchased a hardware component from our store we can install it for you. Our component installation package includes the hardware install and the installation of any drivers that may be required to get it up and running. If specific configuration is required, see our advanced component installation package. | $35 |
| Advanced component installation | The advanced component installation package is
reserved for those times when the install of a specific item or
suite of related items is more involved than usual. This can
include but is not limited to the installation of:

| Data backup | Although we recommend that you backup your data to
the best of your capability before we undertake extensive repair or
upgrades on your system, you have the option for us to also create a
detailed backup. Upon completion of the repair your data is
copied back to a location on the repaired system. This package is ideal if you are upgrading to a new PC, having a hard drive replaced or having your operating system reinstalled and you are capable of reconfiguring the backup yourself. | Advanced Data backup | The same detailed backup as performed with the
standard data backup but when restored to the repaired or rebuilt
system the data is reconfigured as close to its original state as
possible. Reconfiguration can include but is not limited to:
This package is ideal if you are upgrading to a new PC, having a hard drive replaced or having your operating system reinstalled and you also need help reconfiguring your data to its previous state. NOTE: Internet settings, mail settings and other ISP related settings may not be restored or tested without a visit to the system's home. For this advanced reconfiguration that cannot be done inside our workshop, see our pricing for a site visit. |

| Hard drive clone | In certain circumstances we can clone all of the information from one hard drive onto another. This can be particularly useful when upgrading to a larger sized hard drive and you wish to avoid the necessity of reinstalling all of your software. Successful hard drive cloning cannot be guaranteed where the original (source) drive is damaged or failing. |

| Software package installation | We can help you install any software packages on your computer as long as you can provide us with the original install media and license keys. This is quite handy if you are not comfortable installing the software yourself but are competent enough to handle things after the installation. | $35 |
| Advanced software package installation | This package is identical to the standard software
installation package except we go to the extra effort of sourcing
program updates for the software plus we can also help you
reconfigure it to your specifications. Examples of this
reconfiguration include:

| OS installation/rebuild | This package is a basic reinstallation of your
operating system provided that you can supply us with the original
disks and license key (if applicable). This is often a routine
step in the life of a computer and can be very useful to give
certainty that a virus is removed completely or to gain performance
in an old system. An operating system rebuild is also a great
idea if a computer is being retired for a different use and a fresh
start from factory defaults is desired. The basic
reinstallation includes:

| Advanced OS installation/rebuild | The advanced OS installation/rebuild is exceptional value if you have
limited tech skills yourself. It includes everything in the
basic OS rebuild but includes the following list of extras and value
add components:

| Dust removal and component clean | Over time and depending on your environment your
computer can accumulate dust and dirt - this is usually more of a
problem if you have pets or carpet in the same room as the
computer. This buildup can cause serious performance decrease
and cause fans and moving parts to fail ultimately leading to
overheating and other hardware failures.
The hardware clean up is usually performed as a part of another repair job and involves us going to the extra effort of taking each of your fans and other parts from the computer and blowing them with compressed air to remove the grime. |

| Site visit | If for any reason you cannot make it into our store
or if you need urgent attention on site at your business then it is
worth considering getting us to come to you to perform the
repair. Once onsite any work performed is charged at the
hourly rate (see below).
If the job requires your system to be taken back to the workshop for further investigation then a package deal may suffice for the repair. If the system needs delivery back to you then this will require another site visit item. A site visit is usually ideal for:
For customers on the Redcliffe Peninsula (Postcodes 4019, 4020, 4021 & 4022) who wish to take advantage of one of our package deals but who cannot transport their equipment to our premises we offer a collection and delivery service at a special rate $15 per journey. |

| Hourly labour | Most of the repair that we do can fit into a package deal as listed in this pricing schedule but for those jobs that don't fit into a package the hourly rate applies. There is a minimum charge of one hour but after that our time is charged in 15 minute blocks. | $99 |
